ABOUT SERVICE TO STRIDE

BUILT AROUND
YOUR NEXT STEP.

An independent resource guide for U.S. veterans and the people who support them. Every branch. Every era.

A clearer place to start.

Finding the right program can take time. Service to Stride brings six core benefit areas, official resource links, and state offices into one place so you can decide where to begin.

How we use sources.

Benefits guides point to the relevant VA program page. State office listings come from VA’s published directory. Each guide shows when its sources were reviewed, and the provider remains the authority on current rules and eligibility.

We summarize starting points rather than publish benefit-rate tables or make eligibility decisions. Always confirm requirements and application instructions with the linked source.

Independent and straightforward.

Service to Stride is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any military branch. We do not process applications, offer representation, or promise benefit outcomes.

There are no paid placements or affiliate links in the current directory. The guides, resource listings, and complete Career Transition Studio are free to use.

A conversation to continue the work.

The Service to Stride podcast is coming soon. We’re preparing our first season: stories and humor from military life, personal experiences after service, and conversations about local and national news and policy. Listening links will be added when the show launches.

The Service to Stride Editorial Desk.

The Briefing is our independent editorial guide for veterans and families. Articles use AI-assisted drafting and source checks against official references. The editorial perspective explains how to approach a task; it does not claim firsthand military service or professional representation.

Each briefing includes source links and review dates. Practical steps follow the explanation when the topic calls for them. Archive dates identify where an article sits in the collection; the original publication date remains visible. Confirm current program rules with the official provider.

Policy Watch examines changes in veteran policy. Each analysis starts with a bottom line, tests competing explanations, checks key assumptions, and shows what evidence would change the assessment. Primary sources are cited beside factual claims and include dated reading notes. We distinguish enacted rules, implementation evidence, and editorial forecasts; confidence reflects the evidence available.

Your information.

The Career Transition Studio, website tools, and resource guides are free. Downloads do not require a payment, account, email address, or podcast subscription. We do not ask you to upload service records, health records, or a Social Security number to use them.

The downloaded Career Transition Studio runs offline. Its job descriptions, experience records, and notes remain in your browser storage or files you choose to save; the app does not upload them to us or an AI service. Backups and exported reports are not encrypted. We cannot recover local work deleted without a backup.

Free downloads do not create an order or send a delivery email. If you previously used a checkout or delivery link, related email and transaction records may remain with the site, Stripe, or Resend for support and recordkeeping. Those records are separate from your local Studio work.

For product or privacy questions, email contact@servicetostride.com. Information you choose to include in a support email is used to respond to your request. See download and product support information.

Saved pages and checklist progress stay in this browser; they do not sync to other devices. Clearing browser data removes them. The Career Field Kit and federal résumé builder keep your text in this page’s memory. Download a draft before leaving if you want to continue later. Opening a résumé draft reads a local JSON file in your browser; it does not upload it to our server. Résumé PDFs and text files are created in your browser. We do not send worksheet or résumé text to a server or AI service.

Directory searches and filters appear in the page URL. They can be included in your browser history, shared links, and hosting logs. Search for topics rather than entering personal or sensitive information.

Veteran Radar uses a ZIP code you enter to search an approximate area; it does not request GPS access. ZIP codes are sent to Zippopotam.us and USAJOBS. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which receives ordinary web requests including your IP address. Recent public search results and ZIP lookups are temporarily cached for performance, without creating a personal profile. Location queries may appear in hosting logs and in external search links you open.

The hosting service may process technical and access information to operate and secure the site. External websites have their own privacy practices. Optional Google Analytics 4 helps us understand which public pages and resources are useful. It loads only after you accept analytics. Google may then process page visits, scrolling activity, clicks on external resource links, kit download requests, cookie identifiers, browser and device information, and the referring website. Referrer information includes only the website origin, without its page path, search text, or URL parameters. Page-view and kit-download events exclude directory search text and URL query parameters. External-link events may include the linked resource’s destination URL. We do not include account details, service records, or the contents of your documents in our analytics events. Advertising personalization is disabled. A kit-download event means the ZIP reached the browser and a download was requested; it cannot confirm that you saved or opened the file. Direct download links and visits without analytics consent are not included in that event count.

Your analytics choice is saved in this browser for up to 180 days. When analytics is enabled, use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change your choice. Declining stops future analytics collection and clears the analytics cookies set by this site; it does not erase data already collected by Google. You can use the guides without accepting analytics. Read Google’s privacy policy for more information.

Using the site.

Keyboard navigation, labeled filters, visible focus indicators, reduced-motion preferences, and print views are supported. The directory keeps national programs visible when you choose a state so you can compare both kinds of support.

If a listed provider changes its website, use VA.gov or the provider’s official homepage to find its current information.
